A french family in the 70's living in „Ivory Coast“ Africa, documented their life in an amateur and personal way on 8mm films. A friend of this family asked a friend to bring the films to Porto to be picked up by another friend. They were supposed to be donated to the „Cinemateca Portuguesa“ for their archive. No one ever picked them up …
Now we have the opportunity to watch some of them for the first time together.

Fat as one of the basic nutrients stands in a lack society for a means of survival. A memory of the past is conserved in this fascinating material of energy storage. To choose just the butter and not the bread, or as a child within the first luxury decision just the middle of the bread, as an act of luxury and wealth is the starting point for a discussion of the relation of values, needs and greed in an affluent society. So what exactly is luxury? Is it compulsory connected with wealth? And what impact have the diverse interpretations of luxury to society and individuals?
